Frequently asked questions
Hyperbaric oxygen and sessions
What is hyperbaric oxygen?
Hyperbaric oxygen, often shortened to HBOT, means breathing concentrated oxygen while the air pressure around you is raised above normal. At a higher pressure the body takes up more oxygen than it does at normal air pressure.
How does a chamber work?
The chamber is sealed and filled with compressed air to raise the pressure inside. A separate host unit with the air compressor and an oxygen concentrator sends concentrated oxygen to a mask or nasal cannula, so you breathe it directly rather than filling the chamber with it.
Under pressure, more oxygen dissolves into the blood plasma than at normal air pressure, and the plasma carries it on through the body.
Who uses hyperbaric chambers?
Athletes, recovery studios, clinics and people who make oxygen sessions part of their routine at home. Our chambers are sold for general wellness use.
Is hyperbaric oxygen safe for me?
That depends on your health. Hyperbaric oxygen is not suitable for everyone, so speak to your doctor before your first session, particularly if you have a medical condition, take regular medication or are pregnant.
Do I need a prescription?
If you have a medical condition, speak to your doctor before you buy a chamber.
Can older adults use a chamber?
Older adults use chambers at home too. As with anyone, speak to your doctor before your first session.
What does ATA mean?
ATA stands for atmospheres absolute, a measure of pressure. Air pressure at sea level is 1 ATA, and each model’s working pressure is listed in its specifications.
What is it like inside?
Some people feel a slight pressure in the ears as the chamber fills, much like when a plane lands, and it passes quickly. Once the chamber reaches its pressure, most people find it calm and quiet, and use the time to rest, read or meditate.
How long does a session last?
A session usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the pressure and on how used to the chamber you are.
How often can I use a chamber?
People who use a chamber at home often start with three to five sessions a week and then settle into two or three. Ask your doctor how often suits you.
Can I use a chamber on my own?
Yes. The chambers are designed for one person to use on their own, with controls you can reach from inside.
Can more than one person use it?
The chambers take one person at a time, and the people you live with can take turns.
The Pro and Sport ranges
The Limitless Pro chambers have a hard shell of metal panels with polycarbonate windows. They keep a fixed shape, weigh a good deal more than the soft chambers and move on small castor wheels.
The Limitless Sport chambers have a soft cover over an internal metal frame. They can be packed away between uses and are light enough to carry a short distance.

Orders, delivery and care
How does reserving a chamber work?
You reserve a chamber by paying a deposit at checkout, and each model’s page shows the full price, the deposit and the balance. When your chamber is ready to ship, we send you an invoice for the balance.
How do I pay the balance?
We email you an invoice for the balance when your chamber is ready to ship. You can pay it by card on the same checkout or by bank transfer.
When will my chamber arrive?
Each chamber is built for your order, and the current lead time is shown on each model’s page.
How is a chamber delivered?
Chambers travel by freight, which we arrange for each order. You get the tracking details by email when your chamber leaves.
How long does setting up take?
The hard-shell chambers plug in and are ready soon after delivery. The soft chambers need the internal frame connected and the cover put up around it, which one person can do but two people find easier, and we provide written instructions and a video.
How do I look after a chamber?
The chambers need little upkeep. You empty the condensation tank from the air conditioner when it is full, change the air pump filters, keep the zips and valves free of dust, clean the outer cover of the soft chambers and follow the maintenance guide.
